In this role, he oversees the evaluation and deployment of emerging technologies, alternative fuels, energy-efficiency initiatives, and regulatory compliance strategies across the world's largest cruise company. 

Over a career spanning more than two decades with Carnival, Marcel has held leadership roles across revenue management, operational analytics, product development, shipbuilding, fleet retrofits, and maritime operations. This broad experience provides him with a uniquely practical perspective on how commercial, technical, and operational considerations come together when evaluating new energy solutions and decarbonisation investments.

Marie-Caroline holds a master’s degree in public administration from Sciences Po Paris (IEP) and a second master’s degree in European policies from the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium.
