Alexandra has over 25 years of experience in Shell. Starting with research and development of fuels, she then moved to the business side of commercialising alternative energies, before joining Shipping & Maritime in 2013 in the strategy team.
In 2021 she was appointed GM Decarbonisation and is now responsible for the roadmap for decarbonisation in shipping. Alexandra has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sheffield, UK.
Marie-Caroline Laurent
Group Senior Vice President, MSC Group
Marie-Caroline Laurent leads the MSC Group’s Maritime Policy & Government Affairs department. She is based in Geneva and oversees the Group’s government affairs engagements on a wide range of global transport policy matters impacting both MSC’s cargo and passenger divisions.
Marie-Caroline holds a master’s degree in public administration from Sciences Po Paris (IEP) and a second master’s degree in European policies from the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium.

Panos Mitrou is the Chairman of Methane Abatement at the Maritime Innovation Initiative (MAMII), a coalition led by Safetytech Accelerator that advances technologies to measure and reduce methane emissions from LNG-fuelled vessels. He also serves as Global Gas Segment Director at Lloyd’s Register (LR), where he focuses on maritime gas value chains and alternative fuels.
